I choose to study Japanese because I used to live there when I was really young. I went to an international school so I did not learn Japanese while I was there. I did take two years of Japanese in high school. I forgot basically all of it since coming to Columbia so I want to learn it again. So far it has been challenging to remember when to use each particle and which numbers are irregular when talking about time, money, or days of the month.

  1. はじめまして。にほんのどこにすんでいますか。It's nice knowing that I'm not the only one starting off with some knowledge. And I agree, the numbers are very difficult. たいへんですね。

  2. こんにちは!It's really cool that you've had the chance to actually experience the culture firsthand. Do you plan on going back for a semester or summer?
